“You step into that room and you see people having fun dancing … by now you have made few friends with whom you already have so much in common.”

BASSEL DALLOUL

My dancing journey started over 10 years ago when some friends had to convince me to join them to a salsa party, I was blown away watching these dancers and their amazing energy, I knew then that I found a hobby that will stick with me for a long time. I attended many salsa classes in different countries, and when I moved to Vaasa I decided to proceed by creating a community where people can meet and dance, this is when Salsa Vaasa was born.

Today I teach Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Merengue, and I thrive to develop my skills by practicing and attending every possible dance workshop in reach.

“Great dancers are not great because of their techniques, they are great because of their passion. I believe that dancing with the feet is one thing but dancing with the heart is another.”

MAYSS DALLOUL

I have always been a dance lover. Latin dance was not so popular in my country, that led me to start dancing at a late age. I enrolled to my first Salsa class 10 years ago in Damascus-Syria. I worked so hard to develop my skills with the limited resources I had. After two years, My partner and I won First Place in a local dancing competition for two years in a row 2010 and  2011. Two years later, we founded our own dance school named Salsa Spark Dance Academy.

I chose those quotes because dancing for me is not only about the excellent technique but rather about how passionate your are about it because only then you will be unique.

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”

ANNA JUSSILA

I have always been interested in combining movement and music. I got quite late in my life an opportunity to start dancing more regularly: First in Tampere in high school and then at various dance schools after I moved to Vaasa ten years ago. For me the most important dance styles have always been afro- and caribbean based styles that bring above all pure fun, joy and enjoyment. You just want to smile, laugh, flirt and feel everything to the rhythm.

I like that quote above as it states the same as the sports I teach: Buti means the cure that is hidden within ourselves. We just need to find that cure through focus, sweaty movement and wild dance.
