“You step into that room and you see people having fun dancing … by now you have made few friends with whom you already have so much in common.”

BASSEL DALLOUL

My dancing journey started over 10 years ago when some friends had to convince me to join them to a salsa party, I was blown away watching these dancers and their amazing energy, I knew then that I found a hobby that will stick with me for a long time. I attended many salsa classes in different countries, and when I moved to Vaasa I decided to proceed by creating a community where people can meet and dance, this is when Salsa Vaasa was born.

Today I teach Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Merengue, and I thrive to develop my skills by practicing and attending every possible dance workshop in reach.

“Great dancers are not great because of their techniques, they are great because of their passion. I believe that dancing with the feet is one thing but dancing with the heart is another.”

MAYSS DALLOUL

I have always been a dance lover. Latin dance was not so popular in my country, that led me to start dancing at a late age. I enrolled to my first Salsa class 8 years ago in Damascus-Syria. I worked so hard to develop my skills with the limited resources I had. After two years, My partner and I won First Place in a local dancing competition for two years in a row 2010 and  2011. Two years later, we founded our own dance school named Salsa Spark Dance Academy.

I chose those quotes because dancing for me is not only about the excellent technique but rather about how passionate your are about it because only then you will be unique.

“Life is better when you dance.”

JOHANNA LATVA VALDEN

I have been dancing since I was a little kid. Dance has always been my passion. The passion I have is now my job that I enjoy to the maximum everyday. I love Latin rythms like Reggaeton, Dancehall and Salsa. Whenever, there is an ooprtunity, I also try anything from house to Afro.

At Salsa Vaasa, I teach Reggaeton. During my classes I focus on the basics of Reggaeton but I also teach a certain choreography to give a clearer idea about Reggaeton dancing. I always say that my classes are a combination of dance, sweat and laughter!
